Gordon Anderson

A native Highlander, Gordon Anderson spent his childhood on the Isle of Skye before moving to the "big city" of Inverness.  He led a career in scientific research and information technology, then in 2009, took the big leap to become a professional Trip Leader.  Since then, he's been sharing his favorite places in Scotland with travelers. "I love using my knowledge of the nature, culture, and history of the Highlands to enhance people’s enjoyment of this land," he says. He is particularly fond of the Hebrides, where "the ever-changing light, the rugged landscape, and the vast expanses of sky and sea combine to produce something truly magical." Fun fact: Gordon comes from a long line of whisky distillers (his grandfather and great-grandfather both worked in distilleries), so naturally, he’s keen for a great malt whisky—it’s one of Scotland's treasures.

Client Testimonials

Gordon was fantastic. In addition to understanding the history and culture of the Highlands, he can explain the geology of the area, too.
