Olivers Lodge and Stables

Clyde, New Zealand

The original stone complex of Olivers was built in 1869 as a general store, and today the restored buildings provide a blend of history and modern comforts. Preserved schist walls, stone floors, and stable doors are complemented with modern décor and views onto the landscaped courtyard. A hot breakfast featuring baked goods and local jams, chutneys, and cheeses from the on-site bakery is served in the dining room or outside in the courtyard. Olivers Restaurant is a local’s favorite and an iconic landmark where guests can sample craft beers under the open skies or in front of the fire within the ancient stone walls.
