What happens if WT cancels my trip because of COVID-19 travel restrictions?

If we need to cancel a trip because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, your Trip Specialist will be in touch and provide more information specific to your trip.

You can choose between the following options:

  • Transfer to a future departure
  • 100% credit to use towards a future trip departing on or before December 31, 2022, less any penalties by hotels or local service providers that we are unable to waive
  • A full refund of your trip costs, less any penalties by hotels or local service providers that we are unable to waive. We will use good faith efforts to recover and refund as much money as possible in light of these circumstances.

* Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for other expenses incurred like visa fees, inoculations, travel equipment, etc.

* Please note that certain trips including our Cruise Collection, Journeys by Rail, Special Events, and Private Journeys, may have a somewhat different policy. Please reach out to your Trip Specialist for details.

What happens if I cancel my trip with WT?

We have always prided ourselves on having the most generous cancellation policy in the industry. Our standard policy offers a 100% refund up to 91 days before departure on most trips.

However, in order to give you peace of mind during this time, we have worked diligently with our partners around the world to offer an even more flexible cancellation policy. For new sign-ups, we are now offering a 100% refund up until 75 days before departure.

*Please note that certain trips including Special Events, Private Journeys, boat-based journeys, and trips with permits booked in advance may have a somewhat different policy. Please reach out to your Trip Specialist for details.
