    Namibia's Namib Desert, utterly unlike any other place on earth, is the oldest on the planet, a sea of red sand sculpted into fantastic dunes. Your days are filled with early morning 4WD excursions to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes and the vlei itself, the dry riverbed of the Tsauchab River, along with afternoon excursions to explore the desert landscape and its unique flora and fauna.     Transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, set on an ocean of dunes in Namib-Naukluft Park. These celebrated dunes tower 1,000 feet from the acacia-dotted desert pans and their intense red-orange color is picturesque in the morning and evening light. The Namib Desert, utterly unlike any other place on earth, is the oldest on the planet, a sea of red sand sculpted into fantastic dunes. Namib-Naukluft Park offers an extraordinary range of desert habitats that shelter ostrich, springbok, oryx, and baboon, as well as the endangered Hartmannís zebra, a prime example of desert adaptation.
