Inca Trail

June is a wonderful time to combine culture with hiking the Inca Trail. You can celebrate the Inti Raymi festival, celebrating the Inca Sun King, and enjoy dryer days on the trail. Temperatures in the Cusco-Machu Picchu region range from the high 60s°F in the daytime to the low 40s°F at night.

Namibia

June is the perfect time to glimpse both seasons in Namibia, as the vibrant green season fades to a golden color and daytime temperatures rest in the 70s°F, perfect for hiking Sossusvlei dunes. Wildlife viewing is at its peak as waterholes attract a vast array of animals, and the clear desert sky makes for world-class stargazing under a perfectly dark sky.

Ireland

June is one of the most delightful times to explore Ireland, with mostly long sunny days, abundant seabirds perched on the cliffs, and brilliant wildflowers. Being the Emerald Isle, however, you must be prepared for rain showers at any time. Another upside of traveling to Ireland in June is experiencing some of the jubilant solstice celebrations. Think flower crowns, bonfires, food, and dancing!

Norway

Colorful wildflowers, snowy peaks, gushing waterfalls swollen with snowmelt, and the soft midnight sun make Norway one of our favorite places to visit in June. Daytime temperatures are usually in the mid 50s°F and 60s°F, and nighttime temperatures typically drop to the high 30s°F or 40s°F.

Iceland

The long light of the midnight sun during Iceland’s summer means we can make the most of our adventures here. Venture into the glacial realm of Skaftafell National Park, delve into the captivating blend of culture and geology at Thingvellir National Park, and embark on invigorating hikes through the blossoming lupine landscapes of remote western and northern Iceland.

Kyrgyzstan

The Celestial Mountains of Kyrgyzstan come to life in June with lush green hills, snowcapped peaks, and epic rivers flowing through valleys dotted with herds of grazing horses. Our trip experiences many different climates, from the pleasant weather as we roam Bishkek to azure Lake Issyk-Kul, which tends to be cooler.

Slovenia

Slovenia’s mountain climate is generally sunny and cool in June, but can range from blue skies with the temperature in the 60s°F and 70s°F one minute to cloudy, wet, and cold the next, so packing appropriate clothing is key. We enjoy our adventures here before peak summer crowds and still enjoy the warm coastal weather in Piran.

South Africa

South Africa is in full effect in June! Along the Cape coast, we witness the beginning of the whale migration, In Kruger, the deciduous foliage has thinned out, making for fantastic wildlife spotting. Along the Garden Route, short showers are followed by bright, clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

Republic of Georgia

The climate in Tusheti is pleasantly warm in June, with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s°F in the daytime, and nights dipping into the 60s°F. The mountains can experience varying weather from hot and sunny to cold and wet, but overall, it’s one of the best times to visit.
